Taylor & Wood Publishing was created to support authors who want to publish their work with care, flexibility, and respect.

We believe publishing should adapt to people — not ask people to adapt to systems. Every book, every author, and every circumstance is different, and the way a story comes into the world should reflect that.

Why we exist

Traditional publishing models don’t always leave room for difference. Timelines are fixed. Processes are rigid. Some voices are prioritised, while others are quietly pushed aside.

Taylor & Wood Publishing exists to offer another way.

We work with authors who may be navigating disability, neurodivergence, caring responsibilities, health challenges, or complex life circumstances — as well as those who simply want a more collaborative, human publishing experience. Our role is to listen first, then shape the publishing process around what is needed.

An author-led approach

At the heart of our work is collaboration.

We see publishing as a partnership, not a transaction. Authors remain central to decisions about their work, and their voice is respected at every stage — from early development through to publication and beyond.

There is no single “right” way to publish. We work flexibly, recognising that what works for one author or book may not work for another.

Inclusion in practice

Inclusion is not an add-on for us — it is embedded in how we work.

This means:

  • adapting processes and timelines
  • communicating clearly and kindly
  • making space for different needs and working styles
  • valuing lived experience as much as professional expertise

We believe stories are shaped not only by imagination, but by the conditions in which they are created. We aim to create publishing environments where authors feel supported, respected, and able to bring their work into the world without unnecessary barriers.

Our work

The books we publish are as varied as the people who create them, but they are united by care, intention, and collaboration. Each project reflects a shared journey, shaped around the author and the story being told.

We are proud to support work that might not always find space within traditional publishing structures — and to help those stories reach readers in ways that feel right.

If you have a story you’d like to publish, and you’re looking for a partner who will meet you where you are, we’d be glad to hear from you.
